One post, several pieces of media
Lemon8 posts are built like short magazine spreads. A recipe post carries four photographs of the finished dish and a thirty-second clip of the mixing step. A travel post carries a run of pictures and one video panning across a view. The post is the container and the media inside it are separate items.
The address you copy names the post. It does not name one photograph or one clip inside the post, which is why a single paste can return more than you expected.
Which piece the results list offers you
Analyze reads the post page and reports the media files that page publishes. On a mixed post that means the video rows appear with a height and a size in megabytes, and image files appear as their own rows.
Read the rows before pressing anything. A video row carries a resolution such as 720 or 1080 and a size measured in megabytes. An image row is a fraction of that size. Picking is a matter of matching the row to the piece you actually came for, and each row you want is its own download against the daily count of three.
Posts that turn out to hold no video
A great many Lemon8 posts are photographs only. Outfit posts, product comparisons, and text-over-image tips carry no moving picture at all, and the thumbnail on a feed gives no reliable sign either way.
When a post is image-only, no video row appears. That is the page reported correctly rather than a fault. If the video you remember seeing came from a different post in the same feed, open that post and copy its own address.
Taking the address of a single Lemon8 post
The app is the usual starting point, and the app shows no address bar. Use the share control on the post and choose the option that copies the link, then paste that into the box on this page.
On a computer, open the post so it fills the page rather than sitting in a scrolling feed, then take the address from the address bar. An address taken while the feed is scrolling can name the feed instead of the post, and a feed holds many posts and no single file.
Small posts, small files
Clips in Lemon8 posts are short by convention. Fifteen to sixty seconds is typical, and the frame is vertical, so the rows come back at a few megabytes each.
Free use covers 3 downloads a day and refuses any single file over 150 MB. A clip of this length is far below that, so the count is the limit you meet rather than the size. Saving three items out of one long recipe post spends the whole day's allowance. Moving to Pro ends the daily counting, drops the size limit, and takes the advertising away.
Accounts and posts that return nothing
Vidzilla reads every page signed out, so anything the service keeps for signed-in visitors is out of reach. A few situations account for most empty results here.
- The account is private, so a signed-out reader is served nothing.
- The creator deleted the post after publishing it.
- You pasted a profile, a hashtag page, or a search result rather than one post.
- The share sheet handed you a promotional sentence with the address buried inside it, and the extra words were left in the box.
The creator keeps the rights to what they made
Saving a copy does not transfer any right to republish it. The photographs and the clip in a Lemon8 post belong to the person who shot and edited them, and their permission is what governs reuse.
Keeping a recipe clip to follow in a kitchen with no signal is one thing. Posting it under your own account is another, and this page does not change who owns the material.
Questions about mixed Lemon8 posts
The post I pasted had five photographs and one clip. Which do I get?
The results list reports each media file the post publishes, so read the rows and choose the one whose resolution and size match the piece you want.
No video row appeared. Does that mean the tool failed?
No. A great many Lemon8 posts carry photographs only, and an image-only post has no moving picture for the list to report.
Can I save the whole post, photographs and clip together, in one press?
No. Each media file is a separate download, and each one counts against the three a day that free use covers.
How do I get a post address when I only have the app?
Use the share control on the post and copy the link, then move to your browser and paste that address into the box here.
I pasted a hashtag page. Why was the list empty?
A hashtag page collects many posts and has no single file behind it. Open one post and copy the address of that post.
Why are the clips so small compared to other sites?
Lemon8 clips run under a minute and the frame is vertical, so there is far less picture to store than a long landscape video holds.
