Merging comes later if you must rebuild a custom packet from several extracts. Split first to isolate the right pages; merge only when one file is required.
Open each extract once before you discard the binder path from your working folder. Confirm you grabbed the intended faces and signatures.
Privacy is part of the job
Leaving unused pages behind is the point. Do not forward the full binder after you built the minimal extract for a public portal. Delete local copies of sensitive extracts when the job is done if your policy requires it.
Watermark or password-protect extracts that still contain personal data when they leave a secure share. Splitting reduces exposure; it does not replace access control on the files you still send.
When a portal accepts only one attachment, build the smallest honest packet: the named pages, upright, named after the checklist, and compressed only after you confirm the text still reads.
