Public posts versus private chats

Telegram mixes public channels, public group links, and private chats. A public channel post often has a t.me link anyone can open in a browser. A private chat message does not. This page can only work with addresses that resolve to media without your Telegram session.

If the link opens a preview of the video in a normal browser while you are signed out of Telegram web, you are in the right territory. If the link demands the Telegram app and a login before any media appears, Analyze will not see the file.

Never paste invite links that add you to a private group and expect a video list. Those links are membership tickets, not media addresses.

Copying the right Telegram address

In a public channel, open the specific post that contains the video. Use the post’s share control and copy the link. The address usually includes the channel name and a post number.

Avoid copying a link that only opens the channel home without a post id when you care about one clip. The home page lists many posts. Analyze needs the post that holds the video.

If you viewed the clip inside the mobile app, use Share and Copy Link rather than taking a screenshot. A screenshot is not a downloadable video file.

What Analyze does with a Telegram link

Analyze fetches the public page behind the address and looks for a video file that page exposes. When it finds one, you see rows with size information. Choose a row and press Download file.

Keep the tab open until the browser finishes writing the file. The prepared copy expires on a short timer. Free use allows 3 downloads per day and 150 MB per file without an account. Pro removes those limits and the ads.

Large channel uploads often sit above 150 MB. Check the size before you click. Take a smaller option when offered, or use Pro for the full file.

Channels that restrict forwarding and linking

Some channel owners disable forwarding and public link previews. Those settings can leave you with a link that only works inside the Telegram app for members. Outside tools then see an empty or blocked page.

Membership-only channels are private for this purpose even when they have many subscribers. If you can only watch while signed into Telegram as a member, expect the browser-based downloader to fail.

When a channel is public but a single post was deleted, the old link returns nothing. There is no recovery path through a downloader after the post is gone.

Audio notes, photos, and documents

This page targets video. A post that only holds a photo, a PDF, or a voice note is not a video download job. Use Telegram’s own save controls while signed in for those types.

Posts that mix a video with a caption still count as video posts. Copy the post link, not a link to a separate discussion thread that never embeds the media.

Rounded video messages and short notes sometimes behave differently from full channel video uploads. If Analyze returns empty on a message that plays in the app only, the public web view may not expose a file.

Respect for channel owners and copyright

Public availability of a link is not the same as permission to redistribute the file. Save clips you are allowed to keep for personal reference, coursework, or content you own.

Do not use a downloader to strip watermarks from material you plan to reupload as your own. That creates copyright and platform problems that no tool page can clear.

If a channel asks viewers not to download, follow that request. The technical ability to save a public file does not override the owner’s terms or the law where you live.

After the file is on your device

Rename the download to match the channel and date so you can find it later. Telegram post titles are often thin, and browser filenames can be generic.

Play the file in a local player to confirm it is complete. If playback stops early, delete the partial file, run Analyze again, and download with the tab kept open for the whole transfer.

Store the original post link in your notes if you may need another quality later. As long as the post remains public, the same address should list the same published file.
