Three ways an address goes stale

The video was deleted, so the address is intact and the thing behind it is gone. The identifier changed, so the address now names something that never existed. Or the page moved, so the content survives at a different address and the old one is left behind.

All three arrive as an empty results list, which is why they get treated as one problem. They are not one problem, and the source page tells you which of the three you are looking at.

People search for a URL video downloader after a bookmark fails, after a friend sends a link from weeks ago, or after a share sheet truncates the end of an address. The empty list is a symptom. The source page is the diagnosis.

A deleted post, and what the page shows instead

Open the address in your own browser. A deleted item is answered with a sentence rather than a player: the post is no longer available, the video has been removed, the account no longer exists, or a notice naming a copyright claim.

Nothing recovers a file from that state. The publisher removed the file, so no copy of it is being served to anyone, and the download page reports the same emptiness your browser is showing you.

Screenshots of the old player in chat are not a substitute for the file. If you still need the media and the publisher offers another official page, use that current address. Do not expect Analyze to invent a copy the host deleted.

An identifier that is wrong rather than dead

The identifier is the block of letters and digits that names one specific video within a site. When a character is dropped during copying, or a message wraps the address and clips the end, the address that arrives is well formed and points at nothing.

The tell is the response. A site that receives a made-up identifier usually answers with its own not-found page, or bounces you to its homepage, rather than a message about a removed video. Compare the end of the address against the original and copy it again from the browser bar.

On a phone, expand the address bar fully before you select. Share sheets sometimes shorten what they put on the clipboard. Opening the video yourself and copying from the bar after it plays is the reliable path.

A page that moved

Sites reorganise. A domain changes, a section is renamed, an article is refiled under a new date. Careful publishers forward the old address to the new one, and a forwarded address works here without you doing anything.

Where no forwarding was set up, the old address is a dead end while the video is still published elsewhere. Search the site for the title and check whether the same video sits at a current address.

News sites and blogs are the usual movers. Social posts are more often deleted than relocated. When a news article moves, the title search on that site is faster than retrying the old URL repeatedly.

Addresses that were only ever temporary

A very long address containing a random block of characters and a stamp of numbers was issued to one viewer for a short window. Those lapse quickly, and after they lapse they behave exactly like a deleted video.

The answer is not to hunt for a fresh one by hand. Go back to the ordinary page address of the video, the one a person would send to a friend, and paste that instead.

CDN attachment links from chat apps fall into this class often. They work for a while, then expire. Prefer the stable page URL of the post when one exists.

Deciding in about a minute

Open the address, read what the page says, and act on it: a removal notice ends the attempt, a not-found page means copy the address again, and a search hit at a new address means paste the new one.

What an empty list is not

An empty list is not proof that Vidzilla is down when your own browser also shows a removal notice or a not-found page for the same address.

An empty list is also not a paywall unlock. Members-only players that never publish a public file return empty on purpose. Use the app or site you subscribed through for those episodes.

When the source page plays the video and Analyze still returns empty, confirm the pasted string matches the bar exactly, including https and the full path. Then try again. Mismatched mobile share URLs are still the most common operator error after deletions.
