Match the file to the destination
A link can offer several encodings. The largest row is not automatically the right one. A phone screen hides most of the difference between 720p and 1080p while the megabyte count doubles. A television or a large monitor is where the top row earns its size.
Decide where you will watch before you press Download file. That decision is the job of this page. Storage, battery, and the free 150 MB ceiling all follow from the screen choice.
If you will watch once on a commute, a middle row is enough. If you will project in a classroom or edit later, take the highest row you are allowed to finish.
Paste the link, then read both numbers
Paste the address of one video and press Analyze. Each row shows a resolution and a size in megabytes. Use both figures together. Resolution alone does not tell you how heavy the encode is.
If two rows share a height, the heavier file was encoded at a higher bitrate. Take it when you plan to re-edit. Take the lighter one when you only need to watch once on a small screen.
An empty list means the link is not a single public video. Open one watch page, or check for a login wall in a private window, before you spend time comparing rows that will never appear.
Free ceiling and screen choice
Free use allows three downloads a day and 150 MB per file. A 1080p row on a long video can sit above that ceiling even when a 720p row for the same link fits. Choosing the lower row on purpose is a valid trade when you stay on free use.
Pro raises the size ceiling and the daily count and removes ads. The short timer on a prepared file still applies; keep the tab open until the transfer finishes.
Analyze does not spend a free slot. Completing Download file does. You can compare rows, leave, and come back later without losing a download for looking.
Phone versus laptop versus projector
On a phone, prefer a middle row and save storage for the rest of the day. On a laptop, 1080p is the usual target when it fits the free ceiling. For a classroom projector or a living-room television, take the highest row you are allowed to finish.
The file lands wherever the browser on that device saves downloads. Renaming after the fact is fine; keep the extension so players recognize the file.
A common pattern: copy the link on the phone, send it to yourself, and download a larger row on the computer where storage and Wi-Fi are better. Only the address has to travel between devices.
Links that offer only one row
Some hosts publish a single encoding. There is no ladder to climb. Take that row if the size fits, or wait until you have Pro if it does not. Refreshing Analyze will not invent a second quality.
Direct file addresses and small hosts often behave this way. The inventory is honest: one container, one size, one label. Your decision is take it or leave it.
If the single row is audio-only and you wanted picture, you pasted an audio page. Find the watch page that holds the video and paste that instead.
Licensing when you pick a screen-sized file
Choosing a smaller row for a phone does not change who owns the clip. The link only points at published encodings; the rights holder still controls redistribution.
Save material you are entitled to keep for personal viewing on the screen you selected. Classroom projection and living-room playback still require the same permission as a phone save.
If the source is private, paid, or marked for members only, an empty list or a blocked transfer is the correct outcome rather than a workaround. Vidzilla is not affiliated with the sites whose pages you paste.
Finishing the transfer on video download by link
After Analyze lists rows, pick one by resolution and size, then press Download file. Leave the tab open until the browser finishes writing the file to disk. Closing early leaves a partial file.

Confirm the file opens on the destination screen before you delete other copies or spend the next free slot. A silent or truncated download should be replaced immediately while you still remember which link produced it.

Should I always take the largest row?
No. Match the row to the screen and to the free 150 MB ceiling when you are on free use. Phones rarely need the top encode.
Two rows show the same resolution. Which one?
The larger file has a higher bitrate. Take it for editing; take the smaller one for casual phone viewing.
My phone is low on space.
Choose a middle or lower row and confirm the size before you download. Free use also caps each file at 150 MB.

How many free downloads do I get?
Three per day. The count resets at midnight UTC. Analyze does not spend a slot; completing Download file does.
