Public posts can be read, restricted ones cannot

Everything on this page turns on one question: can a stranger with no account see that video? Vidzilla reads the post the way a logged-out visitor does, because it does not hold your login and never asks for it. When the post is public, the video files behind it are visible and the results list fills in.

A post shared with friends only, a post inside a private group, or a page that requires membership shows Vidzilla the same thing it shows any signed-out visitor, which is a prompt rather than a video. Analyze returns nothing in that case. That empty result is accurate. There is no setting on this page that gets around a restriction the poster chose, and adding your password would not be a fix we would offer.

Copy the address of the post itself

The address has to belong to one post or one video. A profile address, a page address, or your scrolling feed covers many posts at once, so there is no single file behind it and nothing comes back.

On a desktop browser

Click the timestamp on the post, or click the post so it opens on its own page with the comments beside or beneath it. The address bar now holds the address of that one post. Select the whole thing and copy it. If the video is playing in a full-screen theatre view, press Escape first so the address settles on the post.

In the phone app

Tap the three dots in the corner of the post, or the share arrow, and choose Copy link from the sheet that slides up. That puts the post address on your clipboard. Switch to your browser, open this page, and paste it into the box. Nothing needs to be installed and the file lands in your device storage or your Files app.

Watch videos and Reels behave the same way

A video published through Watch and a Reel are both ordinary post videos as far as this page is concerned. Open the item so it has its own address, copy that address, and analyze it. The address format differs from a plain timeline post, and that difference does not matter here.

A live broadcast that is still running is the one real exception. While the stream is going out there is no finished file to hand you, only a feed that is still being produced. Wait until the broadcast ends. When the recording is posted to the page or profile, open that recording, copy its address, and analyze that instead.

What the results list gives you

Analyze returns the encodings that post is actually serving, each row carrying a resolution and a size in megabytes. Video filmed on a phone and posted vertically often tops out lower than video uploaded from a camera, so the highest row on one post is not the same height as the highest row on another.

Pick the largest row when the clip is going onto a monitor or a television. Pick a middle row when it is going to stay on a phone, because the smaller file looks the same on that screen. Press Download file on the row you want and keep this tab open until the transfer finishes.

Save only what you are entitled to keep

Your own uploads are yours to save. A video someone gave you permission to keep is fine. Anything else belongs to the person or company that made it, and a public setting on a post is not the same thing as permission to republish it.

Vidzilla is an independent website with no relationship to Facebook or Meta, no partnership, and no authority to grant permission on anyone's behalf. Read the terms you accepted on that platform and stay inside them.

Free size caps and daily counts on Facebook posts

Free use allows three completed downloads per day and blocks any single file over 150 MB. A long public Watch upload often exceeds that ceiling at the top row. Choose a smaller height on free, or use Pro when you need the largest published encode.

Analyze does not spend a free slot. The count moves only after a download finishes. Empty results on private or friends-only posts also leave the count unchanged, because no file transferred.

Keep the browser tab open until the transfer ends. Progress lives in the browser download UI. The finished file plays offline and does not need this site again after it lands on disk.
