Download a video from a social media post
Social apps show clips inside feeds. This page is about copying one public post address and saving the file that post serves.

Finding streams…
Usually a few seconds
Note: Only download content you have the rights/permission to download. Some platforms rotate signed URLs; if a download fails, paste the URL again and click Download.
Paste one video URL per line (2–100 URLs on Pro or Creator). Upgrade to Pro to unlock batch mode.

YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, Vimeo, Reddit, Dailymotion, Twitch, and 1000+ more.
Pro users enjoy an ad-free downloader. Free tier may show sponsored placements. No URL history sold. Optional Vidzilla extension for Page Media — same privacy standards.
Files go straight to your device.
One rule across apps
Every major social app has a different share sheet, but the rule for Vidzilla is the same: you need the address of one public post that plays a video. Profile URLs, explore pages, and home feeds list many items. They are not a single file.
Open the post until it stands alone. Copy the link from Share or from the browser address bar. Paste that link here and press Analyze. The results list describes the media that post publishes to a logged-out visitor.
Host-specific pages exist when you always download from one app. This page stays general for people who jump between TikTok, X, Instagram, Facebook public posts, and similar sources in one work session.
The product is a file on your device. It is not a way to mirror an entire account or to empty a hashtag feed in one click.
Copying links from mobile share sheets
On a phone, open the video post, tap Share, and choose Copy link when it appears. Some apps bury copy under “Share to…” menus or “Other options.” Keep opening submenus until you get a plain https string.
Paste into a notes app first if you want to inspect the string. Delete wrapping characters messengers add. Then paste into Vidzilla.
If you prefer a keyboard and disk space, send the copied link to yourself and finish Analyze on a computer.
When Share only offers in-app destinations, look for “Copy link,” “Copy URL,” or “Browser” options. Without a plain address, Analyze has nothing to read.
What Analyze returns for social posts
Expect one or more rows with height and megabyte size. Prefer a combined picture-and-sound row for offline watching. Some posts publish separate audio; an audio-only row is not the full clip.
Carousels and multi-attachment posts may need the address of the specific item you want. Paste the container post and you might get only the first attachment. Open the slide or clip you care about until the address names it.
Stories and disappearing posts often cannot be fetched once they expire. If your browser can no longer open them logged out, Analyze will not invent a file.
Live replays and clipped highlights are separate objects from the live stream itself. Copy the replay or highlight address when that is the file you need.
- Confirm the creator and caption match the post you meant.
- Read the size against the free 150 MB ceiling.
- Keep the tab open until the browser finishes writing the file.
Private accounts, age gates, and region holds
Private accounts, close-friends lists, and followers-only posts serve a wall to outsiders. Vidzilla does not log into your social accounts. An empty list means the public web cannot read that media.
Age gates and region holds that block anonymous browsers also block Analyze. If you can only play the video inside the app while signed in, that session is not available here.
Removed posts and banned media leave no object to download. Recheck the link in a logged-out browser window when you need a clear answer.
Paid subscriber posts follow the same rule: if a logged-out visitor cannot play them, Analyze returns nothing.
Free use across mixed apps
Free use allows three downloads per day with a 150 MB ceiling per file, with ads on the tool pages. Those three slots are shared across hosts. Two TikTok saves and one X save finish the free budget for the day.
Pro removes the daily count, the size ceiling, and advertising. Use Pro when social archiving is daily work rather than an occasional save.
The free count resets at midnight UTC. Plan which three posts matter when you are sorting references for a project on free use.
Short social clips usually fit under 150 MB. Longer uploads and high-height encodings are the rows that force a smaller choice or Pro.
After the file is on your device
Open the file once to confirm picture and sound. Rename it with the creator handle and a short topic so a folder of social saves stays searchable.
Watermarks and burned-in captions that the host published stay in the file. Vidzilla does not restyle someone else’s post.
Keeping a file for personal reference is not the same as reposting it. Platform rules and copyright still apply.
Move finished saves into dated project folders if you download often. Opaque default names mix together quickly across apps.
When to use a host-specific page
Use the TikTok downloader when every link is TikTok. Use the Twitter video downloader for X clips with sound, and the Twitter GIF page for silent loops stored as short video.
Use youtube-link-downloader or youtube-to-mp4 for YouTube and Shorts. Use the main video downloader when the host is uncommon and you only have a public watch URL.
This social media page is the overview when your clipboard fills with mixed apps and you want one set of instructions.
For free-meter detail alone, open link-video-download-free or free-video-downloader. The limits are the same; the wording focuses on different parts of the job.
Questions about social media downloads
Can I paste a profile URL?
No. Open one video post, copy that post’s address, and paste it here.
Why is the list empty for a post I can see while logged in?
Private or session-only posts are not readable without your login. Vidzilla sees the public page only.
Do free limits apply across different apps?
Yes. Three downloads per day total on free use, regardless of which social host the links came from. Each file is capped at 150 MB unless you use Pro.
Will watermarks be removed?
No. The saved file matches what the post published.
What size limit applies on free use?
150 MB per file. Choose a smaller row or use Pro for larger encodings.
Should I use the TikTok page instead?
Yes when every job is TikTok. Use this page when you switch between social apps in one session.
