What the toolbar covers
The editor exposes select, crop, rectangle, and related draw tools, plus text and brightness-style adjustments. It is built for quick fixes: frame a subject, mark a screenshot, label a diagram, export.
It is not a layered Photoshop replacement. Complex retouching, non-destructive adjustment stacks, and CMYK print prep belong in a desktop suite. Use this page when the job is a single pass you can finish in a few minutes.
People open an online image editor when they need a crop or mark-up without installing software on a locked machine. The browser is enough for those jobs.
Keyboard users can still complete a pass with the on-screen tools. Precision mark-up for a single screenshot does not require a desktop suite licence on a locked work laptop.
When you only need to rotate or flip once, do that early so crop handles match the orientation you will export. Exporting upside down and fixing later wastes a checkpoint.
Files stay on your device
Edits run in the browser on the file you open. Pixels are not uploaded to Vidzilla for this editor. That fits screenshots with private data, unreleased product shots, and ID crops you do not want on a remote queue.
Closing the tab discards an unsaved canvas. Export before you navigate away. The download you save is the durable copy; the open tab is not a cloud album.
If your organization forbids uploading photos to third-party sites, local browser editing keeps the workflow inside the machine policy for ordinary mark-up.
Shared computers still leave the exported file in Downloads. Move or delete the export when the machine is not yours, the same way you would for any other download.
Browser private windows do not make the canvas safer by themselves. The export still lands on disk where the browser saves files.
How to work a pass
Drop an image on the canvas or browse to open it. Pick a tool from the toolbar, make the change, then export PNG or JPG.
Crop before you draw when you only need a region. Add text last so labels sit on the final frame. Brightness and similar adjustments belong after crop so you are not polishing pixels you will throw away.
Work from a copy of the original when the pass matters. Keep the camera file untouched in another folder so you can restart cleanly if a crop goes wrong.
If undo history feels shallow after many small marks, export a mid-pass PNG, reopen it, and continue. That creates a durable checkpoint the tab alone cannot provide.
PNG versus JPG on export
Export PNG for screenshots, UI, and anything with hard edges or transparency. Export JPG for photographs headed to chat or email.
Re-opening a JPG and saving JPG again stacks compression. Keep a PNG working copy when you expect several edit rounds, then export JPG once at the end if the destination needs it.
If the canvas will not open an exotic format, convert to PNG or JPG first on a converter page, then return here. The editor opens common browser-decodable images.
Transparent PNGs matter when you will place the edit on a colored slide later. Flatten to JPG only when the destination rejects transparency or size caps bite.
Screenshot mark-up for tickets
Support and QA paste a screenshot, draw a rectangle around the broken control, add a short label, and export PNG into the ticket.
Keep personal data out of the frame. Crop chat sidebars and email addresses before you mark and share. Export PNG for UI shots. JPG softens text edges and makes the bug harder to see.

Redacting before you share
Draw a filled rectangle over account numbers, faces, or message previews before you export. Crop alone can miss a corner of sensitive text.
Export PNG, open it once, and confirm the redaction is opaque. Semi-transparent marks are not redaction. Zoom into the edges of the blackout to be sure nothing peeks through.
When the whole document is sensitive, prefer a dedicated redaction workflow. This editor is for quick mark-up, not legal discovery packages.
Export checkpoints and when to switch tools
Export a checkpoint PNG before a risky crop. The browser tab is not a version history. If you close the tab by accident, only the last export remains.
Need exact pixel dimensions for a listing? Finish composition here, then open Image Resizer. Need the backdrop gone? Export PNG and use Background Remover. Strip EXIF before public posts when location privacy matters.

Can I undo forever?
Use the editor undo while the tab is open. Export a checkpoint PNG if the pass matters, because closing the tab clears the canvas.
Is this a full design suite?
No. It covers crop, mark-up, text, and light adjustments for quick jobs. Layered retouching belongs in a desktop suite.
What file types open?
Common browser-decodable images such as PNG and JPG. Convert exotic formats first if the canvas will not load them.
Is it free?
