Files go straight to your device.
What a OneDrive share link usually points at
OneDrive share links open Microsoft’s web viewer around a stored file. The address describes access to that file inside OneDrive, not a public video host with a normal watch page. Some shares allow anyone with the link. Others require a Microsoft account that was granted access.
When the share is public enough for an outside reader to reach the file, Analyze can list a downloadable video. When the share demands a sign-in you have not completed in this context, Analyze returns nothing useful because it sees the login wall rather than the media.
Always open the link once in your own browser first. Confirm the video plays or the file preview loads. Copy the address from the browser bar after the page settles, then paste it here.
Getting a usable address out of OneDrive
From the OneDrive web app, open the video, then use Share and copy the link if you are the owner testing your own file. If you received the link from someone else, use the message’s Copy link control or open it and copy from the address bar.
Prefer links that open the file directly rather than a folder view. A folder link lists many items. Open the specific video inside the folder, then copy that file’s address.
Remove tracking fragments you do not need only if the cleaned address still opens the same file when you test it in a private window. If cleaning breaks access, paste the link exactly as shared.
Permissions that block outside downloaders
OneDrive owners can restrict a share to specific people. Those links prompt for sign-in and often refuse anonymous access. Vidzilla does not hold your Microsoft password and cannot complete that sign-in for you.
Password-protected shares and organization-only links behave the same way from the outside. If your browser can open the file only after you authenticate, expect Analyze to fail until the owner publishes a link that allows anyone with the link.
Ask the sender for a downloadable share set to anyone with the link, or ask them to export the video and send a normal file transfer. That is often faster than fighting a locked share.
From Analyze to a local file
Paste the OneDrive address into the box and press Analyze. When rows appear, read the size column. Free use allows 3 downloads per day and 150 MB on each file. Large OneDrive recordings often exceed 150 MB.
If the row is over the free ceiling, take a smaller encode when the list offers one, or use Pro, which removes the size limit, the daily count, and the ads. Press Download file and keep the tab open until the transfer finishes.
The prepared file expires on a short timer. Start the download while results are on screen. Closing the tab early cancels the save.
OneDrive viewer versus a saved copy
Streaming inside OneDrive needs the link and a network connection every time you watch. A saved copy plays offline and survives if the sender later removes the share.
Saving is appropriate when you were meant to keep the file: a lecture the teacher shared for the term, a project asset, a recording of your own event. Do not keep copies you were only invited to preview under a short-lived link if the owner asked you not to download.
After the file lands, rename it to the title you use in your notes. OneDrive filenames are often clear already, but browser downloads sometimes append numbers when the same name exists.
Folders, albums, and multi-file shares
A share that opens a folder is not a single video address. Open each video you need and run Analyze on that file’s link. There is no bulk folder harvest on this page.
If the folder mixes documents and videos, ignore non-video items here. This downloader is for video addresses. For ordinary Office files, use OneDrive’s own download control while signed in.
Very large libraries belong on a proper sync client or a direct OneDrive download while authenticated. The online video path is for individual clips you can open in the viewer.
Related storage links
People often confuse OneDrive links with Google Drive or WeTransfer links. Each host uses a different viewer and permission model. Use the matching tool page when the address clearly belongs to another service.
If the sender can move the file to a normal public video page, that page is usually easier to analyze than a drive viewer. Drive viewers exist to control access; public watch pages exist to play media.
When Analyze fails repeatedly on a OneDrive URL that opens for you while signed in, the honest next step is asking the owner for a different share setting or a direct file send.
Questions about OneDrive downloads
Why does Analyze fail on my OneDrive link?
Most often the share requires a Microsoft sign-in or is limited to specific people. Vidzilla cannot sign in as you. Ask the owner for a link that allows anyone with the link, or download from OneDrive while signed in yourself.
Can I paste a whole folder link?
Open the specific video inside the folder and paste that file’s address. A folder link does not identify one video for Analyze.
The video is larger than 150 MB. What are my options?
Use Pro to remove the 150 MB free file limit, or ask the sender for a smaller export. Free use also caps you at 3 downloads per day.
Do I need a Microsoft account to use this page?
You do not need a Microsoft account for Vidzilla itself. You may still need one to open a restricted OneDrive share in your own browser before any outside tool can help.
Is saving a OneDrive video allowed?
Only keep files you are allowed to keep. Permission to view a share is not always permission to archive a permanent copy. Follow the owner’s rules and applicable law.
Where does the file appear after Download file?
In your browser’s download location. Keep the tab open until the transfer completes. The prepared copy on the server expires on a short timer if you wait too long to start.
