A transfer is a delivery with an end date

WeTransfer exists to send large files once. A sender uploads, the service issues a link, and the recipient collects the files within a set number of days. After that window the transfer is removed from the service.

Most pages on Vidzilla deal with video that is meant to stay online. Here the expiry is the main fact. Treating a transfer link like a permanent video page is what produces most of the confusion when Analyze returns nothing.

Collect the file soon after the notification arrives. Waiting until the last day of the window is how people discover an empty page and an empty results list.

What you see after the days run out

An expired transfer loads a short page saying the files are no longer available. There is no player and no media behind it. Vidzilla reads that page and reports an empty list, which is the accurate answer.

Nothing on this site can reach back for bytes the service already deleted. Ask the sender to upload again and send a new link. Do not assume a cached copy still exists on some other path.

If the link still opens but asks for a password, the list also comes back empty from here. There is nowhere on this page to supply transfer passwords.

One file versus a folder of files

A sender can place one video in a transfer or drop in a whole folder. A single-video transfer is one item, and pasting its address is the straightforward case for a video downloader.

A multi-file transfer is collected as an archive on WeTransfer’s side. An archive is not a video ladder with heights and bitrates. Do not expect a list of resolution rows from a folder transfer the way you would from a public video page.

When you only need one clip from a multi-file package, collect the transfer through the normal WeTransfer flow first, then work with the individual file on your disk.

Copy the transfer address cleanly

Transfers usually arrive as email with a large button. Right-click the button and copy the link address rather than clicking through and copying whatever the browser shows later.

Some email systems wrap links in tracking redirects. Redirects are followed here, so a wrapped link often still resolves. When it does not, open the transfer in your browser and copy the address the page settles on.

Paste that address into the box on this page and press Analyze. If rows appear, pick one that fits your size needs and press Download file. Keep the tab open until the save finishes.

Large transfers and free size limits

People use WeTransfer because the file is big: a camera original, an edit export, an interview dump. Those files routinely pass the free 150 MB ceiling on Vidzilla.

Free use also covers three downloads a day, with the count returning to three at midnight UTC. Pro removes the daily count, removes the size ceiling, and removes advertising. A prepared file expires on a short timer, so leave this tab open until your device finishes receiving it.

If the transfer is still within its WeTransfer window but over the free Vidzilla limit, use Pro for that file, or collect it through WeTransfer’s own download and keep a local copy.

Rights stay with the sender

Somebody uploaded that footage and chose to send it to you for a reason. A camera original from a photographer or a rough cut from an editor is their work. The copy you keep lives on your storage; passing it further is a conversation with the sender.

Vidzilla is an independent site. It has no relationship to WeTransfer and no access to accounts there. Paste only transfers you are meant to receive.

After the file is on your disk

Open the saved file once to confirm it plays or opens. Rename it with a project name and date so a folder of transfers stays searchable. If you received an archive, extract it locally and verify each clip before you delete the WeTransfer email.

Store a note of the sender and the date the link arrived. That context matters months later when someone asks where the master came from.
