Files go straight to your device.

The job this page performs

You already found the video on YouTube. You want that upload as a file in Downloads so it plays without the site, without recommendations beside it, and without relying on a stream later. This page takes the watch URL, lists the encodings YouTube published for that upload, and transfers the row you pick.

It does not search YouTube for you. It does not subscribe to channels. It does not keep a permanent cloud copy of every video you ever pasted. The lasting result is the file your browser writes to local storage.

That narrow job is why the watch URL matters so much. Without a single video id in the address, there is nothing honest to inventory, and empty results are the correct outcome for channel or search pages.

Public videos versus locked videos

Public uploads that play while you are signed out are the ones this path can list. Private videos, many members-only uploads, and purchased movies check account state before media is offered. Signed-out Analyze then returns an empty list.

Age-gated videos may also require a confirmed account in the YouTube player. If your browser cannot play the video without signing in, do not expect a public file inventory here either.

Unlisted videos are reachable by people who have the link. When the unlisted page still serves media to a signed-out visitor, Analyze can work. When it does not, the empty list is accurate rather than a glitch.

Reading height, size, and audio rows

Each results row is one published encoding. Height describes picture resolution. Size describes megabytes on disk after download. Free use blocks files over 150 MB, so long 1080p uploads may require a lower row or Pro.

Audio-only rows appear when YouTube exposes a separate audio resource. Use them for podcast-style listening. They do not magically become MP3 on this page; you get the published audio format YouTube already attached.

Two rows at the same height can differ in bitrate. Prefer the size and clarity you need for the screen that will play the file rather than assuming taller is always better.

Download steps that avoid wasted free slots

Confirm the video plays. Copy the watch URL. Paste and Analyze. Read sizes carefully before clicking Download. Keep the tab open until the browser completes the write so you do not keep a truncated file.

Free use allows three completed downloads per day, resetting at midnight UTC. Analyze is free of that count. Only finished files spend a slot, whether the clip is short or long.

If you need both audio and video from the same upload, that is two downloads. Decide before you click so you do not burn a daily slot by accident.

Filenames, folders, and playback

The saved name usually follows the YouTube title with unsafe characters removed. Rename freely in your file manager. Move the file into a course or project folder so it does not sit forever in Downloads.

Ordinary players open MP4 video rows. If a row uses another container, the extension still matches what was published. Update your player if an older device refuses a modern codec.

Prepared server files expire on a short timer. Local files do not. Back up important saves to a drive you control.

Rights and fair use of the word download

Downloading is a technical transfer. It is not a licence grant. Keep your own uploads and material you are allowed to archive. Commercial music and films still belong to their owners.

Re-uploading someone else’s YouTube video to another platform is a separate act with separate rules. Offline personal playback of permitted material is not the same as redistribution.

When YouTube or the uploader offers an official download button for content you own, prefer that official control over any third-party path.

Troubleshooting empty or failed jobs

Empty Analyze usually means a non-watch URL, a locked video, a live stream still in progress, or a removed upload. Fix the URL or wait for an archive replay before trying again.

A download that stalls often means the tab was closed or the network dropped. Restart the job and leave the tab open until the browser marks completion.

Repeated failures on one video while others succeed point at that upload’s access rules, not at a global outage of this page.

Practical checklist before you close the tab

Confirm you pasted a single-item public URL, not a channel grid, playlist index, or search page. Confirm the media plays while signed out when you rely on anonymous free use.

Read the megabyte figure on the row you intend to take. Free use blocks files over 150 MB and allows three completed downloads per day resetting at midnight UTC. Pro lifts those caps and clears ads.

After Download finishes, open the file locally. Rename it into a project folder. Remember that prepared server copies expire while the file on your disk is the lasting archive you actually wanted.

YouTube download video questions

Do I paste the video URL or the embed code?

Paste the watch URL from the address bar or Share. Embed HTML is not the input this box expects.

Can I download 4K when YouTube shows 4K?

Only if a 4K encoding appears as a row and your free or Pro limits allow that file size.

Does Download spend a free slot if Analyze already ran?

The completed file spends the slot. Analyze alone does not.

Why is members-only content empty here?

This path reads signed-out public media. Members media is tied to an account YouTube checks in its own player.

Where is the file after a successful download?

In your browser download folder or download list. Open it from there or from the Files app on a phone.

Can I resume a partial download?

Restart the download and leave the tab open until the browser marks the file complete.
