Track pages versus artist profile feeds
SoundCloud’s unit for a single piece of audio is the track page. Artist profiles, likes grids, and discovery feeds are rivers of many tracks. Paste a river and Analyze cannot know which waveform you meant—empty or ambiguous results are the honest outcome.
These rules keep your Vidzilla paste on a track page—and honest about tracks that block downloads, require login, or never expose a public stream to a signed-out session. The angle is track identity versus profile indexes, not a promise to unlock every stream you can hear while logged in.

Anatomy of a track page URL
A track URL typically includes soundcloud.com, the artist slug, and the track slug. While that page is open, the player focuses on one upload. Copy that address from the bar or from Share → Copy link on the track itself.
Short on.soundcloud.com links should be opened until they resolve to the full track URL before you rely on them across devices. Copy after the redirect settles so you do not paste a helper that dies in another app.
Glance at the clipboard: you should see both an artist segment and a track segment, not a bare profile root. If only the artist appears, you are still on a feed.
What profile and feed URLs are
Artist homepages, /tracks tabs, likes grids, related rails, and charts list many items. Their URLs lack a single track slug (or they name a set). They are the wrong paste for a one-track download job.
Playlists can be intentional multi-item objects—only use playlist-oriented flows when you truly want the set, and still prefer official track links when you need one song. Discovery “for you” surfaces are especially unstable as paste targets.
Collaborators who send “my SoundCloud” usually mean the profile. Ask for the specific track link, or open the track yourself before Analyze.
Download disables and geo blocks
Uploaders can disable downloads even when streaming is allowed. Geo fences and account walls add more stops. A track that plays for you while logged in may refuse signed-out Analyze for reasons that have nothing to do with Vidzilla being “broken.”
Vidzilla will not override an uploader’s download disable flag or bypass DRM-style protections on restricted content. Respecting that flag is part of staying honest about private and gated media.
When a private window can stream but Analyze still returns nothing useful, treat download-disable and regional policy as first suspects before you rewrite the URL.
Private tracks and unfinished uploads
Secret/private track links may work only for invited sessions. If a private window cannot stream the track, do not expect formats here. Password-style or invite-only sharing is out of scope for signed-out fetch.
Processing uploads that are not ready for public streaming similarly fail until SoundCloud finishes publishing them. Retry later with a fresh track page copy rather than hammering Analyze on a processing stub.
Unlisted-feeling shares that still require your account cookies fail the same triage: anonymous play is the gate.
Sets, albums, and reposts
Repost chrome on a profile is not the same as the original track URL. Open the original track page and copy from there when you need the canonical file identity. Repost wrappers can confuse which slug you actually copied.
Album/set pages are collections. Drill into the track you want unless you are deliberately using a multi-item workflow. Saving “the album page” as if it were one file is the same class of mistake as pasting a gallery index.
When an artist posts the same song in a set and as a standalone track, prefer the standalone track URL for a one-song job so the paste names one waveform clearly.
Paste, Analyze, verify
Paste the track URL into the SoundCloud downloader, read what Analyze returns, download promptly, and confirm the audio file plays end to end. Name files clearly—CDN-ish names are common and hard to search later.
Only save tracks you have rights to keep offline. Redistributing artists’ work without permission is out of bounds. Free quotas still apply per successful save.
Keep the browser tab open until the transfer finishes. If a prepare step expires after a long pause, Analyze again and download while the window is valid.
