Files go straight to your device.

A listing is a gallery, not a single picture

Open any product page and there is a strip of small pictures beside the main one: the item from several angles, a size chart, a packaging shot, a lifestyle photograph, and often a diagram from the manufacturer. Some listings add a short clip of the product being used, and larger brands add a second gallery further down the page.

Analyze reads the listing the way a browser does and reports the media that page is serving, with each file listed on its own row and its size in megabytes beside it. You pick the rows you want rather than receiving the page wholesale.

The thumbnail and the full-size photo are two different files

The little pictures in the strip are separate small files made for the strip. The picture that fills the frame when you click one is a larger file, and the version the zoom viewer loads when you hover is larger again. Three files, one photograph.

That distinction is the point of using this page instead of right-clicking. A right-click on the strip saves the thumbnail, which is a couple of hundred pixels wide and no use for anything printed or presented. Read the resolution and the size on each row in the results list and take the row that matches what you are going to do with it.

Which address to paste for a product

Use the address of the product page itself, copied from your browser bar while the listing is open. Paste it whole. The long trail of tracking and referral parameters on the end is ignored, and trimming an address by hand breaks it more often than it helps.

A search results page, a category page, a brand storefront, and a wishlist each cover many products and hold no single set of media, so they come back empty. Where a listing has variations, open the exact colour or size you want first, because each variation shows its own photographs.

Listings change underneath you

Product pages are edited constantly. A seller swaps a photograph for a newer one, replaces the packaging shot after a redesign, or takes the listing down when the item stops selling. Nothing on a marketplace page is a permanent archive, and the copy on your own disk is the only version that stays put.

That works in both directions. A file you saved in March is no longer what the page serves today, so check the listing again before you rely on an old copy being current. When a page returns nothing at all, the listing has usually been removed or the region you are asking from does not carry that item.

Short clips on a product page

Where a listing carries a demonstration clip, it comes back as a video row with a resolution and a size, in the same list as the photographs. These clips run for seconds and stay small, so they sit well inside the 150 MB ceiling on free downloads.

The count is the limit you will reach first. Free use allows three downloads a day, so a gallery of ten photographs takes more than one day on the free tier. Pro takes away the three-a-day count, the size ceiling, and the adverts. Each prepared file expires on a short timer, so save it as it becomes ready rather than leaving tabs waiting.

Using product media within the rules

Photographs on a listing belong to the seller, the brand, or the photographer they hired. Checking a specification, comparing two items side by side, or keeping a record of what you ordered are ordinary private uses of a saved copy.

Putting somebody else's product photograph on your own listing, in an advert, or on a storefront is a different matter, and it draws a complaint from the owner. Sellers who need images for their own products get them from the manufacturer or shoot them. Vidzilla is an independent site with no relationship to Amazon and no authority to license anyone's photography.

Questions about product pages

Why is right-clicking the small picture not enough?

The strip beside the main photo is made of separate thumbnail files a few hundred pixels wide. The full-size version is a different file, and the results list shows its real resolution.

Can I paste a search results page and collect every product image?

No. A search page covers many listings and has no single set of media behind it. Open one product page and analyze that address.

The listing has a colour choice. Which one do I open?

Select the exact variation you want before copying the address, because each colour and size shows its own photographs on the page.

How many photographs can I take on free use?

Free use allows three downloads a day, and each file counts as one. Pro removes that daily limit along with the size ceiling and the ads.

May I use these photographs on my own shop listing?

The pictures belong to the seller, the brand, or their photographer. A private copy for comparison is one thing, and republishing them commercially needs the owner's permission.

A page I saved from last year now returns nothing. Why?

The listing was removed, or the item is not carried in the region our servers request from. Marketplace pages change constantly and no address is permanent.
