Status URLs as the unit of work on X
On X (Twitter), a video is not a freestanding “watch site” with its own forever path the way some hosts work. The durable public unit is the status—the post—identified by a numeric id in the URL. Everything else is a timeline, a search, or a media browser that merely points at statuses.
If you paste anything other than a status link, Analyze has no single post to open. This guide keeps you on that unit of work for Vidzilla’s Twitter/X download tools.
Treat status as the noun and every other surface as a filing cabinet. Filing cabinets are useful for browsing; they are the wrong object to paste when you need one file.

What a status URL looks like
A typical status address includes the site host, a username segment, the word status, and a long numeric id. That id is the post. Mobile x.com and twitter.com hosts both appear in the wild; either is fine when the status id is complete.
Copy from Share → Copy link on the post, or from the address bar after you open the post in its own view. Expanding a tweet in-place sometimes updates the bar—confirm status and the digits are present before copying.
The numeric id is long on purpose. Truncating it in chat or email breaks the unit of work instantly. Paste without retyping, and keep the digits contiguous from first to last.
Why profile and search URLs fail
A profile home lists many posts. A search URL describes a query. A /media grid filters attachments but still is not one status id. Pasting those collection addresses asks Analyze to guess which clip you meant; it will not guess.
Open the specific post that contains the video until the status pattern appears. Then paste that string only.
Pinned posts on a profile are still statuses with their own ids. Being pinned does not turn the profile URL into a valid paste—open the pin itself and copy the status link.
Replies, quotes, and nested players
A reply can carry its own video with its own status id. A quote tweet can show someone else’s player while the outer status id belongs to the quoter. Decide which post you want, open that post, and copy its status link—not the parent timeline URL.
If you need the embedded original, click through to the original status and copy there. Mixing outer and inner ids is a frequent wrong-file mistake.
Threads compound the same rule: each post in the thread is its own status. Scroll to the post that actually hosts the video, open it, and copy that status URL rather than the thread root alone.
Protected accounts and login walls
Protected posts are invisible to signed-out readers. Circles, subscriber-only posts, and age gates that block anonymous playback likewise yield empty format lists. Vidzilla does not attach your X session.
Deleted statuses and withheld regional posts fail for the same honest reason: there is no public page left to read.
Password-style gates and DRM-backed media are out of scope for public Analyze. If a private window cannot play the status, stop before you paste.
GIFs, Spaces, and non-status media
Short GIF-style attachments still live on a status; use the status link. Audio Spaces and some live products are different objects—do not assume a video status tool will archive a Space.
Direct cdn.twitter.com or video.twimg.com file URLs sometimes appear in developer tools. Prefer the public status page URL for Analyze unless you knowingly have a direct file link and a tool path meant for direct files.
Keeping the status page as the default paste target avoids fragile CDN paths that expire or omit context about whether the post is still public.

Why did a quote tweet give me the wrong clip?
You likely copied the outer status while wanting the embedded original—or the reverse. Open the exact post you mean and copy that status URL so the id matches the player you intend to save.
Will Vidzilla open protected accounts?
No. Signed-out Analyze cannot read protected posts. Circles and subscriber-only posts fail for the same access reason.
What about t.co short links?
Open them until the status URL appears, then copy the resolved status address. Pasting an unresolved short link that never shows status and digits is asking Analyze to work without a post id.
